Farm day versus coffee tasting

An in-city cupping or specialty café visit can be excellent, but it is not the same product as visiting a working coffee environment outside the dense city core. The farm experience adds landscape, growing conditions, harvesting context, processing, and a sense of where the cup begins.

Why we keep it separate from the city loop

Travel time makes the difference. Trying to squeeze a farm into a standard four-hour Medellín day creates a rushed version of both experiences. We prefer to give the coffee outing its own 5–6 hour block.

Private Tours Medellín: Choose the time block first. The Route Card gives you options inside that time, and changing the theme does not change the base city price.

What to ask before booking a coffee experience

Ask how far the farm is from your pickup area, how much walking is involved, whether the experience is hands-on or mostly demonstration, what tasting is included, and whether meals or snacks are part of the price. Those details matter more than the number of Instagram stops.

Who tends to love this day

Coffee enthusiasts are obvious, but the experience also works well for couples, families, people who want countryside without committing to Guatapé, and travelers who need a slower break from dense city sightseeing.

Our coffee-day pricing

Our private coffee experience starts at $300 for 1–2 guests and from $375 for larger groups. Farm admission or specific third-party experience charges can vary and are confirmed before the day.

Bottom line

The best private day is not the one with the longest attraction list. It is the one where the route, pace, vehicle and time block match the people actually traveling. If you already know your date and group size, use the planner below and we can turn these ideas into a Route Card.

Want this built around your group?
Our city half day is 4 hours from $250 for 1–2 guests, and the full day is 8 hours from $400. Larger-group pricing reflects the larger vehicle required.
